Thankfully the cold weather is over, at least for now. It is too early to tell if any of the berries were damaged by the cold weather. With the warmer weather we are able to get back outside and resume preparations for this spring. Yesterday I was tying the Lauren raspberries to the trellis wire. This variety produces very long "whippy" canes that fall to the ground if they are not tied to the trellis. Our First shipment of peach, pluot, aprium and plum trees will be arriving this week. We usually don't get our trees this early, but some of these are only available from California nurseries and this nursery ships very early. So, we will dig a big hole, line it with straw, put the trees in and cover them until we are ready to plant. This should be in February or March, depending on the weather.
