Unfortunately, due to a cold winter, spring frosts and severe pruning we are not able to take any more orders for blueberries this year. We are hoping that with the new growth we are getting this year, that we will have more berries next year. We are also considering putting in a wind machine for frost protection. Our spring raspberries are also done. Starting in Mid August we will be trying something new. We have 2 patches of a fall bearing raspberry called Caroline. These berries taste very good. We are going to do PYO (pick your own) in these patches. As the time gets closer we will post more details here.
The red raspberry harvest is winding down. We will probably be picking for 4-5 days and then we will be done. The purple raspberries should be producing for us for 7-10 more days. We are just starting to pick our Chandler blueberries. We should be picking them for 2-3 weeks and we will start picking our Triple Crown blackberries next week. The weather has been good with a small number of very hot days, these tend to cook the raspberries on the bushes.hot.
We hope that you find the website interesting. If you have any suggestions or things you would like to see let us know. For those of you who want red raspberries we would urge you to contact in the next couple of days and we look forward to seeing all of you who will be getting purple raspberries, blueberries or blackberries. Have a berry nice summer. Farmer Greg |
